For his successful prosecution of the Dodger Stadium murder, Mr. Rubinson was named 2005 Prosecutor of the Year by the prestigious organization Justice for Homicide Victims. In 2003, he was named Deputy District Attorney of the Month for June, 2003 for his successful murder prosecution of Damian "Football" Williams and Tyrone Killinsgsworth. Williams had gained infamy for his televised 1992 beating of truck driver Reginald Denny at the corner of Florence and Normandie, an iconic act committed at the outset of the civil disturbances in the wake of the Rodney King verdicts.
